''Nursery Boys Go Ahead'', also stylized as ''!Nursery Boys Go Ahead!'', is an album by the Kenyan band Abana Ba Nasery. It was released in 1992. The band, a trio, traditionally produced its sound with just their voices, acoustic guitars, and a Fanta bottle. The album is considered to be Luhya people, Luhya pop and folk music. Production The album was produced by staff at Globe Style. It was recorded while the band was touring Great Britain, in 1991. Members of 3 Mustaphas 3 and the Oyster Band contributed to the album. Ron Kavana played on "Esimiti Khusilenje". Critical reception ''The Boston Globe'' determined ''Nursery Boys Go Ahead'' to be one of the best albums of 1992, labeling the band a "surprising guitar-and-Fanta-bottle ensemble." Abana Ba Nasery
Abana Ba Nasery was a musical group from Kenya. The group was led by Shem Tube (vocals & guitar), backed by Justo Osala (guitar) and Enos Okola (percussion). The group came from Bunyore, Western Province. The group existed in the 1960s and 70s before disbanding. Afterwards Tube and Osala formed a new group ''Les Bunyore''.Allmusic Abana Ba Nasery/ref> In 1989 the Globe Style label released internationally a compilation CD ''Classic Acoustic Recordings from Western Kenya'', containing Abana Ba Nasery's songs from the 60s and early 70s. Abana Ba Nasery reformed in 1991. The same year they were touring in Europe, during which a new album, '' Nursery Boys Go Ahead'', was recorded. Fanta is an American-owned German brand of fruit-flavored carbonated soft drinks created by Coca-Cola Deutschland under the leadership of German businessman Max Keith. Luhya People
The Luhya (also known as ''Abaluyia'' or Luyia) comprise a number of Bantu ethnic groups native to western Kenya. They are divided into 20 culturally and linguistically related tribes. ''Luhya'' refers to both the 20 Luhya clans and their respective languages collectively called Luhya languages. There are 20 (and by other accounts, 21, when the Suba are included) clans that make up the Luhya. Each has a distinct dialect best on thelocality of the speakers.The different dialects shows maturity of the luhya language. 3 Mustaphas 3 is a British world music band formed in 1982. Its core members are Ben Mandelson (under the name Hijaz Mustapha), Tim Fienburgh (1954–2008) (under the name Niaveti III), Colin Bass (under the name Sabah Habas Mustapha), and Nigel Watson (under the name Houzam Mustapha), around which orbit many other Mustaphas – all supposed to be the nephews of Uncle Patrel Mustapha (Lu Edmonds). Oysterband (originally The Oyster Band) is a British folk rock and folk punk band formed in Canterbury around 1976. History Early history The band formed in parallel to Fiddler's Dram, and under the name "Oyster Ceilidh Band" played purely as a dance band at first. The name Oyster comes from the group's early association with the coastal town of Whitstable, Kent, known for the quality of its oysters.
