Northern Territory Government
The Northern Territory Government is the executive branch of the Northern Territory. The Government of Northern Territory was formed in 1978 with the granting of self-government to the Territory. The Northern Territory is a territory of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Constitution of Australia and Commonwealth law regulates its relationship with the Commonwealth. Under the Australian Constitution, the Commonwealth has full legislative power, if it chooses to exercise it, over the Northern Territory, and has devolved self-government to the Territory. Steven Mark Edgington is an Australian politician from the Northern Territory. Edgington moved to Darwin in 1988 to join the police force. In his time in the Territory he has lived and worked in a number of locations including senior police roles in Tennant Creek. Marie-Clare Boothby (born 20 February 1977) is an Australian politician in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly. She currently serves as Attorney-General of the Northern Territory in the Finocchiaro ministry. Boothby was born and raised in Darwin, and has since moved to live in Palmerston where she lives with her two children.
