Northern Karst
The Northern Karst Belt (Spanish language, Spanish: ''Cinturón del Carso Norteño'') is a limestone karst landscape located in the northwestern region of Puerto Rico. A karst is a topographical zone formed by the dissolution of soluble porous rocks, such as limestone, with features such as Mogote, mogotes, Canyon, canyons, Cave, caves, Sinkhole, sinkholes, List of rivers of Puerto Rico, streams and rivers, all of which are common on this region of the island. Cueva Ventana
Cueva Ventana () is a large cave situated atop a limestone cliff in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, overlooking the Río Grande de Arecibo valley. It is visible from the PR-123 but is accessible from a trail that begins adjacent to a Puma Energy gas station located along PR-10 on kilometer 75. The cave and surrounding land are privately owned. Tourism The cave is a popular tourist attraction for Puerto Ricans as well as tourists visiting from outside Puerto Rico. An initial admittance fee for Saturday and Sunday visits was established by the owner of a nearby gas station, due to the location's popularity. The number of visitors is at its largest on both Saturdays and Sundays from early morning to an hour before nightfall. Puerto Rico Highway 10 (PR-10) is a major highway in Puerto Rico. The primary state road connects the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Ponce in the south coast to Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Arecibo in the north; it is also the shortest route between the two cities. Julio Enrique Monagas Park (, sometimes referred to as Julio Enrique Monagas National Park or ) is an Urban park, urban state park and Recreation area, recreational area located in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. San Patricio State Forest (Spanish: ''Bosque Estatal de San Patricio''), also known as the San Patricio Urban Forest (Spanish: ''Bosque Urbano de San Patricio'') is one of the 20 forests that make up the public forest system of Puerto Rico. This is a secondary or second-growth forest is located in the Gobernador Piñero district of San Juan, between the neighborhoods of Villa Borinquen, Caparra Heights and Borinquen Towers complex.
