Nina Becker
Nina Becker Nunes (born 21 July 1974) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Rio de Janeiro, Becker is the stepdaughter of conductor Roberto Gnattali and the nephew of composer Radamés Gnattali. She studied graphic design, and before starting her musical career she worked as set designer and art director. In 2002, Becker began performing as a singer with Orquestra Imperial Orquestra Imperial is a Brazilian Big Band formed in 2002 with the objective of recreating the typical Gafieira Samba sound. The group brought together notable names from the new Carioca pop scene such as Rodrigo Amarante (from the group Los Herm ..., and in 2004 she started a parallel solo live career, also taking part to the musical projects, notably 3NaMassa. Orquestra Imperial is a Brazilian Big Band formed in 2002 with the objective of recreating the typical Gafieira Samba sound. Radamés Gnattali
Radamés Gnattali (27 January 1906 – 3 February 1988) was a Brazilian composer of both classical and popular music, as well as a conductor, orchestrator, and arranger. Biography Radamés Gnattali was born in Porto Alegre (the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil) on 27 January 1906. His parents were both musicians who had emigrated from Italy at the end of the 19th century. His mother, Adélia Fossati, was a pianist and music teacher. His father, Alessandro Gnattali, had been a carpenter in Italy, but after arriving in Brazil applied his passion for music to creating a new career for himself as a successful bassoonist and conductor (as a union leader with strong anarchist sympathies he also went on to organize a strike of the musicians' union in 1921).
