Nike Sulway
Nike Sulway (''née'' Bourke; born 1968) is an Australian novelist. Career Nike Sulway is a novelist, short story writer, researcher, and teacher who works across speculative and literary fiction. She has a PhD in Creative Writing from Griffith University and is a graduate of the Clarion South Writers Workshop. ''Lightspeed'' is an American online fantasy and science fiction magazine edited and published by John Joseph Adams. The first issue was published in June 2010 and it has maintained a regular monthly schedule since. The magazine published four original stories and four reprints in every issue, in addition to interviews with the authors and other nonfiction. All of the content published in each issue is available for purchase as an ebook and for free on the magazine's website. ''Lightspeed'' also made selected stories available as a free podcast, produced by Audie Award–winning editor Stefan Rudnicki. History ''Lightspeed'' was founded and run as a science fiction magazine by publisher Sean Wallace of Prime Books with John Joseph Adams as editor. Crawford Award
The IAFA William L. Crawford Fantasy Award (short: Crawford Award) is a literary award given to a writer whose first fantasy book was published during the preceding calendar year. It's one of several awards presented by the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts (IAFA) and is presented at the International Conference of the Fantast in the Arts each March in Orlando. In order to be eligible, a title must be the author’s first ''fantasy'' book; it is permissible for an author active in different genres to be submitted, so long as it is their first fantasy book. In addition to novels and novellas, collections of poetry, short stories, and fiction aimed at younger readers are all eligible. The Prize was conceived and established with the help of Andre Norton, who continued to sponsor it for many years. The award is named after the publisher and editor William L. Crawford (1911-1984). James Tiptree, Jr
Alice Bradley Sheldon, better known as James Tiptree Jr. (born Alice Hastings Bradley; August 24, 1915 – May 19, 1987), was an American people, American science fiction and fantasy author. It was not publicly known until 1977 that James Tiptree Jr. was a pen name of a woman, which she used from 1967 until her death. From 1974 to 1985, she also occasionally used the pen name Raccoona Sheldon. Tiptree was inducted into the EMP Museum#Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2012. Tiptree's debut story collection, ''Ten Thousand Light-Years from Home'', was published in 1973 and her first novel, ''Up the Walls of the World'', was published in 1978. Nature writing is nonfiction or fiction prose about the natural environment.
