Nike Boise Open
The Albertsons Boise Open is a professional golf tournament in Idaho on the Korn Ferry Tour, played annually at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise. Held in mid-September for its first 23 years, the new September playoff schedule of the Web.com Tour in 2013 moved the Boise event up to late July. The event returned to mid-September in 2016, and became part of the Web.com Tour Finals as the penultimate event. The schedule was revised for 2019 and it moved to late August. History The tournament has been played every year since 1990, the first year of the tour, then known as the Ben Hogan Tour. It is one of four original tournaments on the current schedule. Future notable names in the top 20 that first year were Tom Lehman, John Daly, Jeff Maggert, and Stephen Ames; David Toms made the cut. John Daly (golfer)
John Patrick Daly (born April 28, 1966) is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Daly is known primarily for his driving distance off the Teeing ground, tee (earning him the nickname "Long John"), his non-Country club, country-club appearance and attitude, his exceptionally long backswing, the inconsistency of his play (with exceptional performances and controversial incidents), and his personal life. His two greatest on-course accomplishments are his "zero-to-hero" victory in the 1991 PGA Championship, and his playoff victory over Costantino Rocca in the 1995 Open Championship. Fran Quinn
Francis Quinn Jr. (born March 11, 1965) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He previously played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Early life and amateur career Quinn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and graduated from Saint John's High School in 1983. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Northwestern University in 1987. Professional career In 1988, Quinn turned pro. He played his first full season on the Ben Hogan Tour in 1991, where he made 13 of 25 cuts. Later in the year he finished T8 at 1991 PGA Tour Qualifying School obtaining his PGA Tour card for 1992. Chris Tidland
Christopher Lee Tidland (born September 28, 1972) is an American professional golfer. Early life Tidland was born in Torrance, California. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1995 with a management degree. Tidland led his team to the 1995 NCAA Division I Men's Championship and finished second in the individual tournament. Professional career Tidland turned professional after graduating. He played on the PGA Tour's developmental tour in 1996, 1999, 2002–06, and 2008-09 where he won two events: the 2008 Albertsons Boise Open and the 2009 Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. Timothy Henry Clark (born 17 December 1975) is a South African professional golfer who formerly played on the PGA Tour. His biggest win was The Players Championship in 2010, which was also his first PGA Tour win. Early life and amateur career Clark was born in Durban, South Africa. He took up golf at the age of three and was taught to play by his father. The 2023 Korn Ferry Tour was the 33rd season of the Korn Ferry Tour, the official development tour to the PGA Tour. Changes for 2023 Unlike in previous seasons, the Finals did not have a separate points list; the top 30 point winners through the entire season, including the Finals, earned PGA Tour cards. Those who finish 31-75 remain fully exempt on the Korn Ferry Tour for the next season. A rule change announced in December 2022 allowed for Korn Ferry Tour members that made the 36-hole cut in the U.S. Open to earn Korn Ferry Tour points equivalent to FedEx Cup points earned for their finish.
