Nickelodeon Australia
Nick or Nickelodeon is an Australian and New Zealand children's pay television channel owned by Paramount Networks UK & Australia. It is based on the Nickelodeon, namesake American television channel. Since 1 December 2010 the Australian and New Zealand versions of the subscription channel have been the same. The Nickelodeon (New Zealand), New Zealand-specific version of Nickelodeon ceased broadcasting the day before. The channel ceased broadcasting on Foxtel on 1 August 2023 as a result of free-to-air channel 10 Shake rebranding as "Nickelodeon". The existing pay television channel continues to broadcast through Fetch TV, Fetch in Australia, and on Sky (New Zealand), Sky in New Zealand. The Fetch feed was renamed "Nick", to differentiate it from the free-to-air channel. It originally launched as 10 Shake on 27 September 2020, as Network 10's third multichannel. Nickelodeon was a television channel in New Zealand that targeted audiences aged 3–14. The channel launched on 1 August 2006 and was available on Sky Television Channel 041. The channel closed on 30 November 2010, and New Zealand schedule is now managed by Nickelodeon Australia. The channel used to be headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, shared with fellow Viacom channel MTV New Zealand. Freeview is the brand name of the digital terrestrial television platform in Australia intended to bring all of free-to-air (FTA) broadcasters onto a consistent marketing platform, to compete against subscription television, in particular Foxtel. NickMusic (formerly Nick Hits) is a specialized music channel that is the international version of the American NickMusic. The channel mainly features modern pop music.
