Nick Walker (artist)
Nick Walker (born 1969) is a British graffiti artist originating from Bristol, England. His paintings often feature a bowler-hatted gentleman 'vandal'. He is credited with being part of the stencil graffiti movement that Robert Del Naja started in the 1980s, which was also an influence on Banksy. Walker recreated the graffiti'd streets of New York City for Stanley Kubrick's 1999 film, ''Eyes Wide Shut''. His work was included in a video by The Black Eyed Peas. In 2006 a spray painted work of Walker's titled "Moona Lisa" sold for an unexpected £54,000 at Bonhams in London. At a solo exhibition at London's Black Rat Gallery in 2008, £750,000 worth of art was sold, with dozens of people camping outside the gallery overnight. Career Early career Walker played four years of College soccer in the United States, college soccer at Farleigh Dickinson University between 2010 and 2013. Nick Walker is an American scholar, author, webcomic creator, and aikido teacher, known for contributing to the development of the neurodiversity paradigm, establishing the foundations of neuroqueer theory, and writing the essay collection ''Neuroqueer Heresies'' and the urban fantasy webcomic ''Weird Luck''. Walker is a professor of psychology and psychedelic studies at California Institute of Integral Studies. His semi-autobiographical debut novel, ''Cherry (novel), Cherry'', was published by Alfred A. Knopf on August 14, 2018. Career Nicholas Walker was born in the United States on April 19, 1985. From 2005 to 2006, Walker served in the United States Army as a combat medic in Iraq as part of Iraq War, Operation Iraqi Freedom, going on more than 250 combat missions. After being discharged from the military and returning to civilian life, he developed post-traumatic stress disorder and major depressive disorder and became addicted to heroin and Oxycodone.
