Nick Thompson (field Hockey)
Nicholas Thompson (born 21 September 1967) is a British former field hockey player who competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He gained 196 caps and scored 58 goals. Biography Thompson, born in Hackney, only picked up a hockey stick in 1981 aged 14 but by 1983 was representing the England U16 team. Thompson played club hockey for Old Loughtonians Hockey Club in the Men's England Hockey League from 1986 and was involved in the Seoul 1988 Olympic training squad. He was selected for the 1990 Men's Hockey World Cup. After missing selection for the 1992 Olympics he was added to the squad for the 1994 Men's Hockey World Cup. Still at Old Loughtonians he was selected for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and participated in the 1998 Men's Hockey World Cup. Nicholas Delton Thompson (born June 23, 1981) is a retired American mixed martial artist. A professional from 2003 until 2011, he competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Strikeforce (mixed martial arts), Strikeforce, Bellator MMA, Bellator Fighting Championships, and Bodog Fight. He is the former Bodog Fight Welterweight Champion. Background While attending college, Nick wrestled at the University of Wisconsin from 2000–2002. Nick Thompson (politician)
Nick Thompson (born February 7, 1966) is a former Fort Myers, Florida Republican politician who served as the Representative for District 73 in the House of Representatives of the U.S. state of Florida. He was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2008. He chaired the Civil Justice & Courts Policy Committee. He chose not to run for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives and in 2010 was elected to the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida, a seat formerly held by his father. Nick Thompson is a former American soccer player in the USL and current American soccer coach. Career College Thompson attended Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. From 2007 to 2010, Thompson made 99 appearances for the Falcons, scoring 54 goals and assisting 18 times while winning three NCAA Division III national titles. During his senior season at Messiah Thompson earned First Team All-Commonwealth Conference, First Team All-Mid-Atlantic, Second Team All-American, First Team D3Soccer.com All-American, and Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year honors.
