Nicholas Lawrence Bertus (born 24 July 1993) is an Australian cricketer who represents New South Wales. He made his first-class debut for New South Wales in the 2018–19 Sheffield Shield season on 20 March 2019. 2018–19 Sheffield Shield Season
The 2018–19 Sheffield Shield season was the 117th season of the Sheffield Shield, the Australian domestic first-class cricket competition. The season started on 16 October 2018. For the first time in six seasons, the competition featured no day/night matches. The first five rounds took place prior to the international Test series against India, and in addition the season breaks for the Big Bash League. Queensland were the defending champions. In cricket, the wicket-keeper is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket, ready to stop deliveries that pass the batsman, and take a catch, stump the batsman out, or run out a batsman when occasion arises. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams.
