Neroth, Kozhikode
Neroth is a small village in Unnikulam Gram panchayat in the Kozhikode district, state of Kerala, India. The name Neroth is given to many other villages in Kerala and even there is a municipality called Neroth in German district of Rhineland-Palatinate. Neroth is about 3 km away from Poonoor town and same distance away from Elettil Vattoli town. The village is known with the name of old Poonoor Govt. High school (Now named as GHSS Poonoor). A coir factory operated in Neroth years ago and has since closed. The decomposed waste of the coir factory can be seen as brown hill on ach side of the Neroth - Mangad road. Coconut
The coconut tree (''Cocos nucifera'') is a member of the palm tree family (biology), family (Arecaceae) and the only living species of the genus ''Cocos''. Coir
Coir (), also called coconut fibre, is a natural fibre extracted from the outer husk of coconut, and used in products such as floor mats, doormats, brushes, and mattresses. Coir is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut. Other uses of brown coir (made from ripe coconut) are in upholstery padding, sacking and horticulture. White coir, harvested from unripe coconuts, is used for making finer brushes, string, rope and fishing nets. Neroth is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
