National Security Council (Sweden)
The National Security Council of Sweden (Swedish language, Swedish: ''Nationella säkerhetsrådet'') is the body under the Swedish government in which matters of national security are discussed and security cooperation between different departments organized. A number of other countries also have similar councils, many of these serving as inspiration for the decision to establish the Swedish National Security Council. Composition The National Security Council is chaired by the Prime Minister and consists of cabinet ministers. These are: The Minister of Justice, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Civil Defence and the Minister of Finance. Other leaders of political parties that are members of the government also become members of the council. While those mentioned above are the only members of the council and are entitled to attend all meetings, the prime minister may invite others to attend individual meetings. Rosenbad
Rosenbad (, lit. "rosen bath") is a building in central Stockholm, precinct of Norrmalm. It is a building owned by the Swedish State and serves as the seat of the Government. The present government of Sweden is the right-leaning Kristersson Cabinet. Rosenbad is located on ''Strömgatan'' on the north side of the river Norrström. It was designed by Art Nouveau architect Ferdinand Boberg, and completed in 1902. It originally housed a variety of functions, including a restaurant (until 1956) of the same name. Renovation of the entire block began in autumn 2018, and is expected to be completed in spring 2023. In the meantime, the Government Offices are housed in surrounding blocks. Johan Pehrson
Carl Johan Georg Pehrson (born 8 May 1968) is a Swedish politician who has been leader of the Liberal Party since 8 April 2022, a Member of Parliament since 2018, representing Örebro County, and Minister for Education since September 2024. He also served as Minister for Employment and Integration before that as well as representing the same constituency as Member of Parliament from 1998 to 2015. On 28 April 2025 he announced his resignation as Liberal leader and Minister of Education. He will remain on both posts until 24 June 2025 when the next liberal party conference is due to be held. Carl-Oskar Simon Bohlin (born 8 January 1986) is a Swedish politician who has served as Minister for Civil Defence in the cabinet of Ulf Kristersson since 2022. He is a member of the Moderate Party. Early life and education Bohlin is the son of Magnus Bohlin, professor emeritus at Dalarna University, and Ingrid Lindberg Bohlin. The Minister for Defence of Sweden (; formal title: ) is a member of the Government of Sweden (). The Minister heads the Ministry for Defence and is appointed and dismissed at the sole discretion of the prime minister of Sweden. Although the Minister for Defence heads the Ministry of Defence, the Minister cannot as a general rule issue directives in his/her own right to the Supreme Commander or any other agency director-general in the defence portfolio due to the Swedish prohibition on ministerial rule, unless such authority is provided for in specific statutory provisions. Pål Henning Jonson (born 30 May 1972) is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. He has served as Minister for Defence in the cabinet of Ulf Kristersson since 2022. Biography Jonson was born on 30 May 1972, in Älgå on the northwestern shore of Lake Glafsfjord (Göta-Älv basin). His parents, Bo Jonson and Marya Jonson, were farmers.
