National Democratic Alliance (Sudan)
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA; ) is a group of List of political parties in Sudan, Sudanese political parties that was formed in 1989 to oppose the regime of Omar al-Bashir after he seized power in a 1989 Sudanese coup d'état, military coup on June 6, 1989. The NDA signed a deal with the Sudanese government on June 18, 2005, following a peace agreement to end the Second Sudanese Civil War on January 9, 2005. Some issues have yet to be resolved by opposing factions, including the conflict and humanitarian issues in the war-torn region of Darfur. After further violent clashes in the east, a separate peace deal was signed with the Beja Congress in October 2006. Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Organization Of Sudan
The Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Organization of Sudan ( ''Ḥizb al-Ba‘th al-‘Arabī al-Ishtirākī - Tanẓīm fī al-Sūdān'') is the regional branch of the Damascus-based Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party in Sudan. During the 1980s, the party was called ''Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Organization of Sudan'' (differentiating it from the pro-Iraqi Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party – Region of Sudan). The party contested the 1986 election as part of the Sudanese Progressive National Front. The party held its third regional congress in Khartoum on February 5–6, 2009. The congress elected Al-Tijani Mustafa Yassin as regional secretary, an 11-member Regional Command and a 23-member Central Committee. The congress stated that the party sought cooperation with the National Congress Party for the sake of forming a national front. The party staunchly opposed independence of South Sudan. Rashaida Free Lions
The Rashaida Free Lions ('', al-usud al-hurra'') are an armed group of the Rashaida people that was active in the eastern regions of Sudan. The Free Lions were formed in November 1999 by Mabrouk Mubarak Salim. While the political grievances articulated by the Free Lions, like those of their allies the Beja Congress, revolve around the effects of large mechanized agricultural schemes upon traditional life, the act which mobilized the Rashaida into action was the government confiscation of 400 vehicles the government of Kuwait had given them in thanks for their political support during the 1991 Gulf War. The Rashaida had immigrated from Saudi Arabia only in the late 19th century and have extensive family ties with Kuwait. Sudanese National Alliance (SNA) is a Sudanese political party. Formed in 1994 as a democratic, secular, non-regional party, the SNA was one of the four original members of the National Democratic Alliance, the coalition of Northern groups and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement in opposition to the al-Bashir government in Khartoum. The Sudanese Communist Party (abbr. SCP; ) is a communist party in Sudan. Founded in 1946, it was a major force in Sudanese politics in the early post-independence years, and was one of the two most influential communist parties in the Arab world, the other being the Iraqi Communist Party.
