The electoral district of Narracan is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly in Australia. It was first proclaimed in 1967 and has usually been held by the Liberal Party. Gary Blackwood (politician)
Gary John Blackwood (born 6 June 1951) is a former Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly between November 2006 and November 2022, representing the electorate of Narracan. Early life Blackwood was born and raised in Warragul. He studied economics and politics at Monash Teachers College (later Rusden State College), but after a year of national service in 1972, followed his father into the timber industry, operating his own timber transport and harvesting business from 1973 to 2003. He served as the chief executive officer of the Victorian Forest Harvesting and Cartage Council from 2003 until his election to parliament in 2006. Jim Balfour
James Charles Murray Balfour, (30 September 1914 – 19 May 1990) was a long-serving Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Cabinet Minister in the Legislative Assembly, in the State Parliament of Victoria, Australia. Born in the Melbourne suburb of Windsor to James Miller Balfour and his wife Katrine Elizabeth Alice (née Murray), Balfour was educated at Geelong College. He went on to become a dairy farmer, settling at Willow Grove near Trafalgar in the Latrobe Valley of Gippsland, Victoria. On 6 February 1937 he married Mary Emma Savige, with whom he had five sons. From 1946 to 1967, Balfour served on Narracan Shire Council, and served as President from 1946 to 1947, 1950-1951, and 1960-1961. Florian Andrighetto (born 24 February 1953) is an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 1999, representing the electorate of Narracan. Andrighetto was born in Fara, Italy. He served in the Victoria Police from 1976 to 1996, serving for the last six of those years as a police prosecutor. He also served as a member of the Tarago Water Board from 1991 to 1994, including a stint as chairman from 1993 to 1994. Andrighetto was preselected as the Liberal candidate for the Liberal-held seat of Narracan for the 1996 state election, defeating current Narracan MLA Gary Blackwood. The Shire of Baw Baw () is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, in the eastern part of the state. It covers an area of and in 2021 had a population of 57,626. It includes the towns of Drouin, Longwarry, Neerim South, Trafalgar, Warragul and Yarragon.
