Najdi!
Najdi! ( mk, Најди!, meaning "Find!") is a search engine specialized in Republic of Macedonia media content. Unlike most search engines, it does not utilize a spider to gather the content it indexes, but interfaces directly with the websites it covers through RSS or other XML, in combination with the SWISH-E open-source software. Founded by IT expert Petar Kajevski, "Najdi!" quickly rose to prominence due to the volume of information it covers, and the specific upgrades of the software tailored for content in Macedonian. Besides content of news sites, "Najdi!" also features searches of Macedonian blogs, and printed books. Petar Kajevski ( mk, Петар Кајевски) (born 1974) is Macedonian IT and management expert. He is most famous as creator of the Macedonian search engine " Najdi!", but also achieved prominence as expert on software outsourcing. . SWISH-E
SWISH-E stands for ''Simple Web Indexing System for Humans - Enhanced''. It is used to index collections of documents ranging up to one million documents in size and includes import filters for many document types. SWISH-E is based on SWISH, developed by Kevin Hughes. When Kevin Hughes stopped maintaining it, Roy Tennant (then at the University of California, Berkeley Library) requested in the mid-1990s to take responsibility for developing it further as a web indexing tool. Hughes assented, and for several years afterwards UC Berkeley Library staff developers and other volunteers maintained and enhanced it. It is no longer maintained, with an offline website and an archived repository at GitHub. A Web crawler, sometimes called a spider or spiderbot and often shortened to crawler, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web and that is typically operated by search engines for the purpose of Web indexing (''web spidering''). Web search engines and some other websites use Web crawling or spidering software to update their web content or indices of other sites' web content. Web crawlers copy pages for processing by a search engine, which indexes the downloaded pages so that users can search more efficiently. Domain-specific Search Engines
Domain specificity is a theoretical position in cognitive science (especially modern cognitive development) that argues that many aspects of cognition are supported by specialized, presumably evolutionarily specified, learning devices.
