NHL (video Game Series)
''NHL'' (colloquially referred to as Chel) is a series of professional ice hockey simulation video games developed by EA Vancouver and published yearly by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports brand. The game is developed under license from the National Hockey League (NHL), which enables the use of the league's team names, arenas and colors in the game, and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), which enables the use of the league's player names and likenesses. Installments In NHL Hockey from 1991, the game modes were season and playoff, and due to the license, the game was called ''EA Hockey'' in Europe and featured 22 national teams instead. NHLPA Hockey '93 was without the NHL license, so instead of NHL team names and logos, there were only cities. HB Studios
HB Studios Multimedia Limited is a Canadian video game developer based in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. It is best known for its rugby and cricket games. History HB Studios was founded in early July 2000 by Jeremy Wellard in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The company started with nine employees and developed '' Cricket 2002'' for Electronic Arts. The studio entered a multi-project deal with EA Canada in 2004 to continue developing sports games for the EA Sports label, including further games in the ''Rugby'' and ''Cricket'' series, '' FIFA Street 2'' for the PlayStation Portable as well as co-development on '' Madden 07'' for the Wii. Tiertex Design Studios Limited was a British software development company and former video game developer based in Macclesfield, England; it was founded in 1986, focusing on porting games to home computers and handheld platforms. Park Place Productions was a corporation founded in 1989 by Michael Knox, Troy Lyndon and Stephen Quinn. History In 1990, contracted by Electronic Arts, the company produced '' John Madden Football'' for the Genesis video game console, described as "the most successful sports game of all time." Other popular titles that the company developed include ''Monday Night Football'' (DOS, 1989), and '' Muhammad Ali Heavyweight Boxing'' (Genesis, 1992). Budcat Creations, LLC was an American video game developer based in Iowa City, Iowa, and was a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision, though they formerly had partnerships with Electronic Arts and Majesco Entertainment.
