Mülheim, Cologne
Mülheim ( ; ) is a borough (''Stadtbezirk'') of Cologne in Germany and a formerly independent town (''Mülheim am Rhein''). Mülheim is located on the right bank of the Rhine opposite the old town of Cologne. The district borders Leverkusen to the north, Bergisch Gladbach to the east, the Cologne districts of Kalk and Innenstadt to the south. The river Rhine lies west of Mülheim, on the other riverbank lies the Cologne borough of Nippes. The district is ethnically diverse, with a significant Turkish population. History The place was first mentioned (as ''Mulenheym'') in 1098 and became a town in 1322; it belonged to the County of Berg. In April 1914, Mülheim was incorporated into Cologne. Bundesautobahn 3
is an autobahn in Germany running from the Germany-Netherlands border near Wesel in the northwest to the Germany-Austria border near Passau. Major cities along its total length of 778 km (483 mi) include Oberhausen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Würzburg, Nuremberg and Regensburg. The A 3 is a major connection between the Rhine-Ruhr area and southern Germany, resulting in heavy traffic. Cologne Stadtbahn
The Cologne Stadtbahn is a light rail system in the German city of Cologne, including several surrounding cities of the Cologne Bonn Region ( Bergisch Gladbach, Bonn, Bornheim, Brühl, Frechen, Hürth, Leverkusen-Schlebusch, Wesseling). The term ''Stadtbahn'' denotes a system that encompasses elements of trams as well as an underground railway network (''U-Bahn'') and interurban rail, even including three lines that are licensed as heavy rail and used by freight trains as well as Stadtbahn vehicles. Two of these lines connect the Cologne Stadtbahn to the Bonn Stadtbahn. These lines (16 and 18) are jointly operated by both cities' transport authorities, resulting in both systems and the lines connecting them sometimes collectively referred to as ''Stadtbahn Rhein-Sieg''. Köln-Dellbrück Station
Köln-Dellbrück is a railway station on the line from Köln-Mülheim to Bergisch Gladbach situated at Dellbrück, Cologne in western Germany. It is served by the S11 line of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. History Dellbrück station was opened in 1868 by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company as part of the Mülheim–Bergisch Gladbach railway. Two years later in 1870, the station building was inaugurated after the council had built the building free of charge. The two-storey building was built in a late classical Rundbogenstil (Romanesque revival style) with a half-timber gable and, in addition to the rail facilities, also contained a restaurant. Köln-Buchforst Station
Köln-Buchforst is a railway station situated at Buchforst, Cologne in western Germany. It is served by the S6 and S11 lines of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. Location The station is located in the north of Köln-Buchforst, next to the border with the district of Mülheim. Half a kilometre south-west of Köln-Mülheim station, it serves to connect a densely populated part of the city of Cologne to the network of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. The access to the station is located in Bertoldistraße where it passes under the railway. On both sides of the street there are stairs leading up to the central platform. Stammheim (german: Köln-Stammheim) is a municipal part of Cologne, Germany and part of the district of Mülheim.
