My Michelle
"My Michelle" is a song by American rock band Guns N' Roses, featured on the band's 1987 debut studio album ''Appetite for Destruction''. Recording For the recording of this song, guitarist Slash used a slightly different setup. For the rest of the album, he used a Gibson Les Paul copy through a modified Marshall amplifier on the same settings for each song. However, for this song, he swapped to a 1960s Gibson SG because he felt it had a darker sound. Composition and lyrical intent The song is about a friend of the band, a girl named Michelle Young who is thanked in the ''Appetite for Destruction'' cover sleeve. Slash knew Young throughout junior high, as she was a friend of Slash's first girlfriend. According to Axl Rose, he and Young were in a car together when " Your Song" by Elton John came on the radio and Young 'happened' to mention that she had always wanted someone to write a song about her. Rose's first attempt was a sweet, almost romantic song, but one that had ab ...

Guns N' Roses Songs
A gun is a ranged weapon designed to use a shooting tube (gun barrel) to launch projectiles. The projectiles are typically solid, but can also be pressurized liquid (e.g. in water guns/cannons, spray guns for painting or pressure washing, projected water disruptors, and technically also flamethrowers), gas (e.g. light-gas gun) or even charged particles (e.g. plasma gun). Solid projectiles may be free-flying (as with bullets and artillery shells) or tethered (as with Taser guns, spearguns and harpoon guns). A large- caliber gun is also called a ''cannon''. The means of projectile propulsion vary according to designs, but are traditionally effected pneumatically by a high gas pressure contained within the barrel tube, produced either through the rapid exothermic combustion of propellants (as with firearms), or by mechanical compression (as with air guns). The high-pressure gas is introduced behind the projectile, pushing and accelerating it down the length of the ...

The last surviving lineup also included longtime members Liam Wilson on bass, Greg Puciato as lead vocalist, and Billy Rymer on the drum kit, alongside then-newcomer Kevin Antreassian as rhythm guitarist. The Dillinger Escape Plan achieved critical success, releasing six studio albums during its existence, the first being '' Calculating Infinity'' (1999), which has been noted by critics as a landmark release in hardcore pu ...
