Mudjimba
Mudjimba is a coastal suburb in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia, and forms part of the Maroochydore urban centre. In the , Mudjimba had a population of 2,540 people. Geography The suburb is bounded by Mudjimba Beach on the Coral Sea to the east, the David Low Way to the north and north-west, and Ocean Drive to the south. There are two main residential areas in the suburb, one in the north-east beside the beach and the one along Najoor Road in the west of the suburb. The southern part of the suburb is a protected area within the Maroochy River Conservation Park. There are various small areas of marshland throughout the suburb. Twin Waters is a coastal suburb of Maroochydore in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Twin Waters had a population of 2,687 people. Geography Twin Waters is bounded by the Maroochy River to the south and the Coral Sea to the south-east. Much of the river frontage is preserved within the Maroochy River Conservation Park (), which covers is managed primarily for nature conservation. Due to the L-shape of the suburb, there are three distinct areas: north-west, south-west, and south-east. David Low Way
David Low Way is a Australian road connecting the many coastal townships of the Sunshine Coast with the two large city centres of Maroochydore in the south and Noosa Heads in the north. The route is an alternative coastal route to the Sunshine Motorway and passes through the sugar and fruit growing town of Bli Bli and then crosses the Sunshine Motorway. The road then travels north along the coast, through many coastal towns to the terminus at Noosa Heads. It is named after David Low, a local Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Maroochydore
Maroochydore ( ) is a coastal town in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The town was subdivided from the Cotton Tree reserve by Surveyor Thomas O'Connor in 1903. The land was acquired from William Pettigrew who had a timber depot at what is now Wharf Street. Its name comes from the Yuggera language word ''Muru-kutchi'', meaning red-bill and referring to the black swan, which is commonly seen in the area. Maroochydore is a major commercial area of the Sunshine Coast with most shopping precincts located in the central business district. It is home to the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre and the Sunshine Coast's major bus interchange for TransLink services operated by Sunbus. The Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban region in South East Queensland, Australia. Maroochy River Conservation Park
The Shire of Maroochy was a local government area about north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1890 until 2008, when it amalgamated with its neighbours to the north and south to form the Sunshine Coast Region. History In 1842, Andrew Petrie explored the coast north of Brisbane and discovered the Mary River with a small party including two Aboriginal men from the Brisbane River region who spoke the Yuggera language. HMAS ''Brisbane'' (D 41) was one of three ''Perth''-class guided missile destroyers to serve in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
