Mouse Wreckers
''Mouse Wreckers'' is a 1949 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' short directed by Chuck Jones, written by Michael Maltese and starring Hubie and Bertie in their first pairing with the redesigned Claude Cat (an early, primordial version of the cat appeared in 1943's '' The Aristo-Cat''). The cartoon was released on April 23, 1949. The short centers around Hubie and Bertie's attempts to move into a new home by chasing Claude out of the house. Mel Blanc voices Bertie and an uncredited Stan Freberg voices Hubie. The title is a pun on ''house wrecker'' or ''home wrecker'', where a house is destroyed, often figuratively, by a single person. Chuck Jones
Charles Martin Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an American animator, director, and painter, best known for his work with Warner Bros. Cartoons on the '' Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of shorts. He wrote, produced, and/or directed many classic Animated Cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Pepé Le Pew, and Porky Pig, among others. Jones started his career in 1933 alongside Tex Avery, Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, and Robert McKimson at the Leon Schlesinger Production's Termite Terrace studio, where they created and developed the Looney Tunes characters. During the Second World War, Jones directed many of the '' Private Snafu'' (1943–1946) shorts which were shown to members of the United States military. Plot Whilst Tom is sleeping, Jerry and Nipper, standing on a chimney top, decide to play mean tricks on Tom. Nipper uses a fishing line to lower Jerry to the bottom of the chimney. Jerry hits Tom with a fly swatter, leaving it in Tom's hand, and Nibbles quickly reels him in, making Tom believe that he hit himself in his sleep. Barnyard Dawg is a ''Looney Tunes'' character. A feisty anthropomorphic basset hound, he is the archenemy of Foghorn Leghorn.
