Mississippi Highway 63 (MS 63) is an state highway in southeastern Mississippi that runs north–south for approximately . It serves Jackson County, George County, Greene County, and Wayne County. Route description MS 63 begins in Jackson County in Pascagoula at an interchange with US 90, with the road continuing south into an industrial park as MS 611. It heads north as a four-lane divided highway to immediately leave Pascagoula and enter neighboring Moss Point, where it passes through some neighborhoods to have an intersection with Grierson Street (unsigned MS 618) and cross over the Escatawpa River. The highway travels through a business district before having an interchange with I-10 (Exit 69) and passing by the Trent Lott International Airport. Pascagoula River
The Pascagoula River is a river, about 80 miles (130 km) long, in southeastern Mississippi in the United States. The river drains an area of about 8,800 square miles (23,000 km²) and flows into Mississippi Sound of the Gulf of Mexico. The Pascagoula River Basin is managed by the Pat Harrison Waterway District. It is significant as the only unaffected (or nearly so) river with a discharge of over per year flowing from the United States into the Gulf of Mexico, and indeed the only one in the Cfa Köppen climate classification zone anywhere in the world, with the nearest approaches being the Juquiá and Itajaí in southeastern Brazil (The Yuan Jiang and Shinano Gawa are comparable to those Brazilian rivers but are only marginally in the Cfa zone). Greene County is a county located on the southeast border of the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,530. Its county seat is Leakesville. Established in 1811, the county was named for General Nathanael Greene of the American Revolutionary War. Mississippi Highway 198
Mississippi Highway 198 (MS 198) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The highway is the designation for six former segments of U.S. Highway 98 (US 98) that have been bypassed by newer alignments. These six segments are located in Tylertown, Columbia, Hattiesburg, Beaumont, McLain, and Lucedale. Five of the six sections of MS 198 are two-lane undivided roads that pass through small towns; the exception is the Hattiesburg section which is a four-lane divided highway running through developed areas of the city. Mississippi Highway 26 (MS 26) is a state highway in southern Mississippi. It runs from a continuation of Louisiana Highway 10 (LA 10) east through Pearl River, Stone, and George counties to MS 198 in Lucedale. Along the way it intersects several major highways including U.S. Route 11 (US 11) in Poplarville, Interstate 59 (I-59) in Poplarville, and US 49 in Wiggins. In late September a section of MS 26 east of Benndale collapsed due to heavy rains from Hurricane Ida and killed three people. Mississippi Highway 614 (MS 614) is a east–west state highway in northeastern Jackson County, Mississippi. It connects the communities of Wade and Hurley with the Alabama state line and the city of Mobile. Route description MS 614 begins in the community of Wade at an intersection with MS 63; the road continues west as Wade–Vancleave Road to cross the Pascagoula River and connect to the community of Vancleave and MS 57. It heads northeast to leave Wade and travel through woodlands for a few miles to pass through the community of Hurley, where it has a junction with MS 613 at the main crossroads at the center of town. The highway leaves Hurley and heads southeast through farmland for several miles, where it crosses the Escatawpa River before curving back northeastward for a couple miles to come to the Alabama state line.
