Minot Mallards
The Minot Mallards were a minor league baseball team based in Minot, North Dakota. Earlier Minot teams preceded the Mallards and played as members of the 1917 Northern League and 1923 North Dakota League. Beginning play in 1950, the Mallards played as members of the Manitoba-Dakota League (1950–1957), Northern League (1958–1960, 1962) and Prairie League (1995–1997), winning seven league championships in their history. The Mallards hosted minor league home games at Corbett Field and were a minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians from 1958 to 1960 and Kansas City Athletics in 1962. Darrell Wayne Brown (born October 29, 1955) is a former professional outfielder. He played during four seasons at the major league level for the Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, and Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). John André (baseball)
John Edward André (January 3, 1923 – November 25, 1976) was a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in the 1955 season. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, the Filipino-American André was signed by the New York Giants as an amateur free agent in 1946. He languished in the minor leagues for years before being purchased by the Cubs from a club in Shreveport. André made his major league debut at the unusually advanced age of 32 on April 16, 1955, and went on to appear in 22 games, including 3 starts. He managed a record of just 0–1 with one save in those 22 games, posting a 5.80 ERA. André's final major league game was on July 16, 1955. Roy Maxwell Alvis (born February 2, 1938) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a third baseman from through , most notably for the Cleveland Indians where he became a two-time All-Star. He played his final season with the Milwaukee Brewers. Kenneth Henry Landenberger (July 29, 1928 – July 28, 1960) was an American professional baseball player and manager. Landenbeger played 11 seasons (1948–58) of minor league baseball and managed in the minors for three full seasons and part of a fourth. In his only Major League Baseball service, he appeared in two games as a first baseman and pinch hitter over a nine-day period for the Chicago White Sox, batted five times, and had one single — off Dick Littlefield of the St. Louis Browns in his final MLB plate appearance. The Fargo-Moorhead Twins were a minor league baseball team that existed from 1933 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1960, representing the neighboring cities of Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota.
