Mike Riley (referee)
Michael "Mike" Anthony Riley (born 17 December 1964) is an English former professional football referee, who has refereed matches in the English Football League, Premier League, and for FIFA. Riley currently serves as the general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited. Career Riley was born in Leeds in West Yorkshire. He became a national Football League referee in 1994, having previously served five years on their assistant referees' list. He was later granted FIFA status in 1999 allowing him to officiate international fixtures. In 2002, Riley refereed the English FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea, which he later stated was "the highlight of my career". Riley took charge of the 2004 Football League Cup Final, between Bolton and Middlesbrough, in a game that saw all three goals scored within the first 25 minutes. Bolton (, locally ) is a large town in Greater Manchester in North West England, formerly a part of Lancashire. The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. Competition format Each team plays the other teams in the division twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. Happy Valley Athletic Association (), known simply as Happy Valley or HVAA, is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. South China Athletic Association (known simply as South China, SCAA, ) is a Hong Kong professional football club that competes in the Hong Kong First Division, the second-tier league in Hong Kong football league system. The 2006–07 Hong Kong FA Cup was the 33rd staging of the Hong Kong FA Cup. The competition started on 21 April 2007 with 10 Hong Kong First Division clubs. Four of them took part in the first round to determine which team advanced to the quarter finals. From quarter finals onward, the cup competition was a single-elimination tournament. Due to sponsorship deal with the Dongguan LANWA Group Co. Ltd, the event was officially known as 2006/07 HKFA Lanwa International FA Cup. Although all the matches before the final was held at the Mongkok Stadium, the final was staged at the Hong Kong Stadium on 19 May 2007. The "Battle of the Buffet", also known as "Pizzagate", is a name used by the British press to refer to a Premier League match played between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford, Manchester, on 24 October 2004. Arsenal dictated much of the early play and created several openings, but as the game progressed Manchester United threatened. The home team were awarded a penalty in the 73rd minute, when Wayne Rooney was deemed to have been fouled by Sol Campbell. Ruud van Nistelrooy converted the penalty kick; Rooney also scored late in the game, making the score 2–0. The result ended Arsenal's record-breaking 49-match unbeaten run.
