Midwest League Most Valuable Player
The Midwest League Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) is an annual award given to the best player in Minor League Baseball's Midwest League based on their regular-season performance as voted on by league managers. League broadcasters, Minor League Baseball executives, and members of the media have previously voted as well. Though the league was established in 1947, the award was not created until 1956. After the cancellation of the 2020 season, the league was known as the in 2021 before reverting to the Midwest League name in 2022. Twenty-three outfielders have won the MVP Award, the most of any position. First basemen, with 11 winners, have won the most among infielders, followed by third basemen (7), shortstops (4), and second basemen (2). Five catchers and three pitchers have also won the award. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Paul Molitor
Paul Leo Molitor (born August 22, 1956), nicknamed "Molly" and "the Ignitor", is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) player and former manager of the Minnesota Twins, who is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. During his 21-year baseball career, he played for the Milwaukee Brewers (1978–1992), Toronto Blue Jays (1993–1995), and Minnesota Twins (1996–1998). He was known for his exceptional hitting and speed. He made seven All-Star Game appearances, and was the World Series MVP in 1993. Molitor currently ranks tenth on the all-time MLB career hits list with 3,319. Dee Strange-Gordon
Devaris "Dee" Strange-Gordon (born April 22, 1988) is an American professional baseball second baseman, shortstop, and center fielder who is currently a free agent. He has played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, Seattle Mariners and Washington Nationals. Strange-Gordon was primarily a shortstop and second baseman, and with the Marlins, he was primarily a second baseman. Ben Daniel Revere (born May 3, 1988) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Angels. Revere was born in Atlanta, and raised in LaGrange, Georgia, though he eventually moved to Richmond, Kentucky. Brian Allan Dopirak (born December 20, 1983) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. Early life High school Dopirak attended Dunedin High School. He was originally selected by Chicago Cubs in the second round (56th overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft. Prince Semien Fielder (born May 9, 1984) is an American former professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, and Texas Rangers.
