Michael Fox (judge)
Sir Michael John Fox (8 October 1921 – 9 April 2007) was a British barrister and judge. He was a High Court judge from 1975 to 1981 and a Lord Justice of Appeal from 1981 until 1992. Early life and education Fox was born to Irish parents and raised in the Roman Catholic faith. the youngest of four children. His father had worked in the Irish Civil Service. Fox was educated at Drayton Manor School in Hanwell. His father died in 1930 in a shooting accident, and his mother remarried. He went to the London School of Economics to read law, but his studies were interrupted by the war. His poor eyesight prevented him joining the armed forces during the Second World War, and worked in intelligence in the Admiralty from 1942–1945. A Justice of the High Court, commonly known as a ‘High Court judge’, is a judge of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales, and represents the third highest level of judge in the courts of England and Wales. High Court judges are referred to as puisne (pronounced ''puny'') judges. High Court Judges wear red and black robes. High Court judges rank below Justices of Appeal, but above circuit judges. Berlei is a brand of women's lingerie and in particular bras and girdles. History The company began in Sydney in 1910. The Berlei brand originated in 1917. Berlei undergarments are now sold in Australia by Hanesbrands and in the United Kingdom by Courtaulds Textiles. Berlei conducted a research project to quantify Australian 'figure types'. Stoneleigh is a small village in Warwickshire, England, on the River Sowe, situated 4.5 miles (7.25 km) south of Coventry and 5.5 miles (9 km) north of Leamington Spa.
