Clan MacLeod (; gd, Clann Mac Leòid ) is a Highland Scottish clan associated with the Isle of Skye. There are two main branches of the clan: the MacLeods of Harris and Dunvegan, whose chief is MacLeod of MacLeod, are known in Gaelic as ' ("seed of Tormod"); the Clan MacLeod of Lewis and Raasay, whose chief is MacLeod of The Lewes ( gd, Mac Ghille Chaluim), are known in Gaelic as ' ("seed of Torcall"). McLeod is a residential neighbourhood in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood is bounded on the south by 144 Avenue, on the north by 153 Avenue, on the east by 58 Street and on the west by 66 Street. Most of the residential development in the neighbourhood, according to the 2001 federal census, were constructed during the 1960s and 1970s. Just over half of all residences (54.9%) were built during the 1960s and one out of every four (26.7%) were constructed during the 1970s. Most of the remaining residences were built during the late 1980s. According to the 2005 municipal census, 100% of the residences in the neighbourhood are single-family dwellings. Substantially all of the residences (96%) are owner-occupied. McLeod River
The McLeod River is a river in west-central Alberta, Canada. It forms in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, and is a major tributary of the Athabasca River. __TOC__ Course The river begins just outside the eastern border of Jasper National Park, at the confluence of Thornton and Cheviot Creeks. These creeks are fed by the meltwater on the western slopes of Tripoli and Cheviot Mountains. The McLeod River then follows the Grave Flats Road, taking on Prospect, Whitehorse Creek, Whitehorse, and Cadomin Creeks before emptying into Lac des Roches, south of the town of Cadomin. McLeod County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. At the 2020 census, the population was 36,771. Its county seat is Glencoe. McLeod County comprises the Hutchinson, MN Micropolitan Statistical Area and is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN- WI Combined Statistical Area. McLeod is an unincorporated community in Sweet Grass County, Montana, United States. McLeod is located on Montana Secondary Highway 298 southwest of Big Timber. History Located in resource-rich Boulder valley, McLeod was first established as a mining settlement, named after W.F. McLeod. The first Post Office opened in 1886 with E.E. Fowler as Postmaster. In 1916, attempts to drill an oil well on the townsite revealed geothermic heated water, and a swimming pool was opened. A post office was again established at McLeod in 1920 and continues operation. McLeod (also Sandoun) is a census designated place in eastern Ransom County, North Dakota, United States. An unincorporated community, it was designated as part of the U.S. Census Bureau's Participant Statistical Areas Program on March 31, 2010. It was not counted separately during the 2000 Census, but was included in the 2010 Census, where its population was reported to be 27. The community lies along North Dakota Highway 27 east of the city of Lisbon, the county seat of Ransom County. McLeod Plantation is a former slave plantation located on James Island, South Carolina, near the intersection of Folly and Maybank roads at Wappoo Creek, which flows into the Ashley River. The plantation is considered an important Gullah heritage site, preserved in recognition of its cultural and historical significance to African-American and European-American cultures.
