McFarlin Building
The McFarlin Building is a general office building located on the northeast corner of Fifth Street and Main (Bartlett Square) in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. The five-story building was built in 1918 by Barnett, Haynes & Barnett for oilman Robert M. Downtown Tulsa is an area of approximately surrounded by an inner-dispersal loop created by Interstate 244, US 64, and US 75. The area serves as Tulsa's financial and business district, and is the focus of a large initiative to draw tourism, which includes plans to capitalize on the area's historic architecture. Barnett, Haynes & Barnett
Barnett, Haynes & Barnett was a prominent architectural firm based in St. Louis, Missouri. Their credits include many familiar St. Louis landmarks, especially a number related to the local Catholic church. Their best-known building is probably the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (the 'new' cathedral). A number of the firm's works are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The three partners were Thomas P. Barnett, John Ignatius Haynes, and George Dennis Barnett. The Barnetts were sons of English-born St. Louis architect George I. Barnett, and Haynes was George D.
