Masonia
Masonia (The name meaning 'Builders of music'), is a five-piece rock band hailing from Sydney, Australia. Also known as the band Blind Verdict. Their debut single reached #41 on the ARIA singles chart, reaching #26 in NSW. The lead singer of the band, Altiyan Childs, auditioned for the first Australian season of The X Factor in 2010 and has since made it through to the finals and won. The keyboard player / backing vocalist Daniel Rivers has since moved on to producing Soul/R&B/Hip-Hop music under the name 'Dans Pies'. The bass player / backing vocalist Moe Bloomfield is currently playing in The Deer Republic who recently won the 2009 Tooheys Extra Dry UncharTED competition. Altiyan Childs
Altijan Juric (born 10 June 1975), best known by his stage name Altiyan Childs, is an Australian singer-songwriter. He was the winner of the second season of ''The X Factor Australia'' in 2010, and subsequently signed with Sony Music Australia. His debut single " Somewhere in the World" reached the top-ten in Australia and New Zealand and his self-titled debut album peaked at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart; and was certified platinum. His second studio album ''Born Before the Sun'' was released in September 2015, and was preceded by the release of six singles. In 2016 he played the title role in a Queensland production of ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Rock Band

The X Factor (Australia Season 2)
''The X Factor'' was an Australian television reality music competition, based on the original UK series, to find new singing talent; the winner of which received a recording contract with record label Sony Music Australia. The second season premiered on the Seven Network on 30 August 2010 and ended on 22 November 2010. The winner was Altiyan Childs and his debut single " Somewhere in the World" was released after the final. Childs was mentored throughout by Ronan Keating, who won as mentor for the first time. The season was presented by Luke Jacobz, while spin-off show ''The Xtra Factor'' was hosted by Natalie Garonzi on 7Two. The show was originally to be hosted by actor Matthew Newton, however, he was forced to withdraw as host during production after an altercation with his former girlfriend Rachael Taylor and re-admitting himself to rehab. Backing Vocalist
A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists.
