Marzuki Alie
Marzuki Alie ( Jawi: مرزوقي علي ; born 6 November 1955) is an Indonesian politician and businessman who served as the fifteenth speaker of the People's Representative Council from 2009 until 2004. A member of the Democratic Party until 2021, he was kicked from the party during an internal leadership struggle within the party. Marzuki Alie also served as Secretary General of Partai Demokrat, the party formed by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Marzuki Alie has PhD in Political Science from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and also a degree in management from Sriwijaya University, Palembang. Agung Laksono (born 23 March 1949) is an Indonesian politician who currently serves as a Member of the Presidential Advisory Council since 13 December 2019. A member of Golkar, he has previously served as Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet and Speaker of the People's Representative Council from 2004 until 2009. Born in Semarang, on 23 March 1949. He completed his primary and secondary education at SMA Negeri 4 Medan. He continued his studies at the Indonesian Christian University at the Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1972. He started his political career in the Golkar Party by serving as Chairman of the Youth Forces of the Golkar Party from 1984 until 1989. The Democratic Party ( id, Partai Demokrat) is a centre to centre-right political party in Indonesia. It was founded on 9 September 2001. Its ideology is based on the Indonesian concept of Pancasila, and identifies as centrist.
