Marooned Hearts
''Marooned Hearts'' is a lost 1920 American silent drama film directed by George Archainbaud. It starred Conway Tearle and Zena Keefe. Plot As described in a film magazine, Dr. Paul Carrington (Tearle), a young surgeon looked to for great things, becomes engaged to Marion Ainsworth (Keefe), a sincere but selfish daughter of wealth. On a day when they set out boating, her failure to deliver a message to her fiance demanding his immediate return to the hospital brings him to ill favor with his associates. He discovers her deception and, shouldering the disgrace to shield her, goes to a tropical island to conduct his experiments in solitude. A year later she seeks to follow him, but a shipwreck causes her to be cast upon the shore, where he finds her. He divides the island between them and promises to protect her, but orders her not to disturb him and his work. George Archainbaud
George Archainbaud (May 7, 1890 – February 20, 1959) was a French-American film and television director. Biography In the beginning of his career he worked on stage as an actor and manager. He came to the United States in January 1914, and started his film career as an assistant director to Emile Chautard at the World Film Company in Fort Lee, New Jersey. In 1917 he made his own directorial debut '' As Man Made Her''. During the next three and a half decades he directed over one hundred films. After the beginning of the 1950s he moved to television. While working at RKO Radio Pictures in the beginning of the 1930s, he showed some artistic and skillful eye with many of his films. Ida Darling (February 23, 1880 – June 5, 1936) was an American actress of the stage and in silent motion pictures. Biography Darling was born in New York City. She performed on the New York stage for 40 years. During the 10 years she resided in California, she was under contract to David Selznick as part of the Selznick Pictures Corporation stock company. Darling appeared in 53 movies from 1913 to 1935. In 1925, she was in the cast of ''Irene'', a film made by First National Pictures, which starred Colleen Moore. ''The Wild Westcotts'', a Vine Street Theater comedy of the 1927 season, featured Darling and Glenda Farrell as cast members. Among her films of the sound era is ''Lummox'' (1929).
