Markku Peltola
Markku Peltola (12 July 1956 – 31 December 2007) was a Finnish people, Finnish actor and musician. He was born and grew up in Helsinki. He was actively involved in founding and acting with the Telakka Theater in Tampere. Peltola is best known for starring opposite Kati Outinen in Aki Kaurismäki's Academy Award-nominated film from 2002 ''The Man Without a Past''. Other films that Peltola featured in include ''V2 – jäätynyt enkeli'', ''Young Gods (film), Young Gods'', ''Drifting Clouds (film), Drifting Clouds'', ''Kamome Shokudo'', ''Jade Warrior (film), Jade Warrior'' and ''Perhoshäkki''. From the 1980s until his death, Peltola was the singer and bass guitarist of the Finnish band Motelli Skronkle. He also released two solo albums: ''Buster Keatonin ratsutilalla'', released by Ektro Records in 2003 and ''Buster Keaton tarkistaa idän ja lännen'' at the beginning of 2006. Kangasala
Kangasala is a city in Finland which is situated about 16 kilometres East of Tampere. The city was founded in 1865 and had a population of people as of . Kangasala covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Finnish author Zacharias Topelius describes the city's natural environment in his poem "A Summer's Day in Kangasala" (which was later set to music by Gabriel Linsén). It is also known for its mansions, such as Liuksiala, where the Swedish queen Karin Månsdotter lived as a widow, and Wääksy. Kangasala has a long history of tourism due to its cultural aspect, notably its museums, and its landscape, which contains ridges and lakes. Motelli Skronkle
Motelli Skronkle was a Finnish post-punk/art-rock band principally active between 1983 and 1994. Formed by theatre director , theatre actor Esko Varonen, and film actor Markku Peltola (best known for his frequent appearances in the films of Aki Kaurismäki, including a starring role in the Oscar-nominated '' Man Without a Past''), the band was strongly influenced by performance art and incorporated European theatrical traditions alongside aesthetics influenced by Australian Aboriginal music and Japanese Noh theatre. Following the three original members, Peter Rajanti joined the band in 1987, followed by Jakke Kivelä in 1990. In keeping with the theatre/drama background of its founders, Motelli Skronkle's performances were accordingly theatrical. ''Kohtalon kirja'' (''The Book of Fate'', though the website also uses ''The Booke of Fate'') is a Finnish film released in 2003. The movie was a DVD release, though it premiered in a theater. The movie is a multi-genre episode movie. It's frequently described as a "Horror/Western/War/Action/Sci-fi" movie, as it covers all of those genres in different episodes. The frequent themes are horror and fantasy, too. The movie was conceived and directed by Tommi Lepola and Tero Molin. Many of the makers, including Lepola and the producer Ilkka Niemi, jointly made the movie as their graduation work from Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulu. The lead roles were given to freshly graduated acting students. As a graduation work, it is vastly larger than most such projects. ''Juha'' is a 1999 Finnish film produced, written, and directed by Aki Kaurismäki. The film is loosely based on a famous 1911 novel by the Finnish author Juhani Aho marking this as the fourth time the novel was adapted for the screen. The original story takes place in the 18th century but Kaurismäki's remake is set sometime in the latter half of the 20th century. It tells the story of a love triangle where a simple peasant woman leaves her husband after falling in love with a modern city slicker. ''Take Care of Your Scarf, Tatiana'' (), also translated as ''Take Care of Your Scarf, Tatjana'', is a 1994 Finnish/German film directed, produced and co-written by Aki Kaurismäki. The film tells the story of two shy and unaccomplished middle-aged men who run away from their mothers' homes and drive aimlessly on the back roads of Finland. Plot Valto (Mato Valtonen) lives with his mother, who runs a clothing business. Valto is seen sewing clothes for his mother at the beginning of the film. When he discovers the coffee has run out, and his mother refuses to make him a new one straight away, he locks her in a cupboard, steals her money and goes out.
