Maringá Futebol Clube, usually shortened to Maringá, is a Brazilian football team from Maringá in the southern state of Paraná. The club was founded on 2010 as Grêmio Metropolitano Maringá. Their stadium, the Estádio Willie Davids was built in 1957. The name Maringá Futebol Clube was used previously by an unrelated club founded in 1995 that after winning the title of the Second Division in its first participation, participated in the Campeonato Paranaense from 1996 to 1998 and also participated in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C in 1997. In the same years of its foundation already won the 3rd Division State Championship and got promoted to 2nd Division, where the club played 3 years in a row from 2011 to 2013. Marcos Alexandre Souza Soares (born 30 July 1975) is a Brazilian football manager and former player who played as a central defender. He is the current manager of the Saudi Arabia national under-19 team. Playing career Known as Ditão during his playing days, Rio de Janeiro-born Soares began his senior career with hometown side America-RJ. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. Londrina Esporte Clube, more commonly referred to as Londrina, is a Brazilian professional association football club in Londrina, Paraná which currently plays in Série B, the second tier of Brazilian football, after being promoted from Série C in 2020.
