Marijke Moser, née Van de Graaf (born 1946) is a former Dutch-born Swiss middle and long distance runner.. She has campaigned for women to enter races on the same terms as men. She was the first woman to run a marathon in under three hours. Life From the age of five to twelve, Marijke van de Graaf lived with her parents in Indonesia, where her father was physician. In 1970 she married Albrecht Moser who was a member of the same athletics club as her in Hilversum in the Netherlands, after which the couple moved to Bern. Moser campaigned for the right of women to run in all raceson equal terms to men. She managed to participate in the male-only Morat-Freiburg race in 1971 as a "clandestine" entry. She registered as a man named Markus Aebischer. Moser ran in the 1500m at the 1972 Olympics for Switzerland. She came eighth in the first heat and she was eliminated before the final. Mareike Miller (; born 3 August 1990) is a 4.5 point wheelchair basketball player, who played for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the United States. Mareike Ann Carrière (26 July 1954 – 17 March 2014) was a German actress, spokesperson and translator. She was perhaps best known for her television show appearances. She was born in Hanover, Lower Saxony, West Germany. At the age of 16, she began her training at the Lübeck Drama School. After completing this, she caught up on her Abitur and studied English and French at the Sorbonne in Paris. She finished this study with a diploma as a translator. Marijke van Warmerdam (born 12 March 1959, Nieuwer-Amstel) is a Dutch artist. Biography Marijke van Warmerdam has been developing a characteristic body of work including film, photography, paintings and sculptures since the 1990’s. She is best known for her short film loops, with which she first garnered international attention at the Venice Bienniale in 1995. Shortly thereafter, her work ''Douche'' (''Shower'', 1995) was displayed for an extended period of time on one of the platforms of Schiphol Airport railway station, where thousands of travellers could see the film while waiting for their train. Maria Bernadina (Marijke) Vos (born 4 May 1957 in Leidschendam) is a Dutch politician. Career Pre-political career Vos's father was a judge in 's-Hertogenbosch. Her grandfather, A.H.J. Engels was member of parliament for the Roman-Catholic RKSP. After finishing gymnasium-b in 's-Hertogenbosch in 1975, Vos went on to study biology at the University of Wageningen, graduating in 1983. Marijke Verpoorten is a researcher and professor at the University of Antwerp. She received a PhD in Economics from the University of Leuven. Her research has focused on development economics, economic causes of armed conflicts, global supply chains, natural resources and religion, particular in Rwanda, Benin and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She also teaches economic and institutional development at the Catholic University of Bukavu and development economics at the African school of Economics in Benin.
