Mariano Di Gangi
Mariano Di Gangi (23 July 1923 in Brooklyn – 18 March 2008 in Ottawa) was a minister of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Biography A native of Bushwick, Brooklyn, Di Gangi graduated from Brooklyn College in 1943 and earned a Bachelor of Theology from Philadelphia's Westminster Theological Seminary in 1946 and joined the Presbyterian Church in Canada, (serving as a Student Missionary at Cote St George, Quebec in 1943) following additional postgraduate courses at The Presbyterian College, Montreal. He served congregations in Montreal, preaching in both English and Italian from 1946 to 1951, in Hamilton, Ontario from 1951 to 1961, where St Enoch's Church (merged in 2005 to become Trinity Presbyterian Church, Hamilton) grew to a membership of over 1,000. Philip Ryken
Philip Graham Ryken (born 1966) is an American theologian, Presbyterian minister, and academic administrator. He is the eighth and current president of Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Early life and education Ryken was born on September 29, 1966. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and philosophy from Wheaton College in 1988. He also completed a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1992 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in historical theology from University of Oxford in 1995. Urbana (convention)
Urbana is a major Christian student missions conference sponsored by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. The event is designed to inform Christian students about global issues and issues around the world that missionaries face. The conference also encourages students to explore the biblical mandate for cross-cultural missions and encourages them to participate in missions. Each Urbana lasts for 5 days at the end of December and ends with a final communion on New Year's Eve.
