Margarita Ostolaza
Margarita Ostolaza Bey is a former member of the Senate of Puerto Rico. Margarita Ostolaza was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. After carrying out her graduate studies at New York University (NYU), she started teaching in the Cayey campus of the University of Puerto Rico in 1986 where, she founded the Project for Studies of Women. Afterwards, she finished her doctoral studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her specialty is political sociology. In 1989, with the editorial assistance of Ediciones Huracán, she published her book "Política Sexual en Puerto Rico" (Sexual Policy in Puerto Rico). Ostolaza teaches at the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras campus. Puerto Rico Senatorial District I, also known as the Senatorial District of San Juan, is one of the eight senatorial districts of Puerto Rico. It is currently represented by Nitza Morán (from the New Progressive Party). ''El Nuevo Día'' (English: ''The New Day'') is the newspaper with the largest circulation in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1909 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and today it is a subsidiary of GFR Media. Its headquarters are in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The 2008 Popular Democratic Party primaries were the primary elections by which voters of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) chose its nominees for various political offices of Puerto Rico for the 2008 general elections.
