Douglas Manley
Douglas Ralph Manley (30 May 1922 – 26 July 2013) was a Jamaican politician, Member of Parliament (MP), and Government Minister. He was the son of Jamaican premier Norman Washington Manley and Edna Manley and the older brother of former Jamaican Prime Minister, Michael Manley. Manley served as the MP for South Manchester, Jamaica from 1972 to 1980 and 1989 to 1993. Manley also served as a Minister of Youth and Community Development, Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Health during the 1970s. Douglas Manley attended St Andrew's Preparatory School and secondary school at Munro College. He obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology from Columbia University and a PhD in sociology from the University of Liverpool, England. Joey Manley (July 1965 – November 7, 2013) was an American LGBT fiction author, web designer, and webcomics publisher. Manley wrote the successful LGBT novel ''The Death of Donna-May Dean'' in 1992. He moved to San Francisco in 2000 in order to work in web design. Manley was the founder and publisher of the Modern Tales family of webcomics websites, which included Modern Tales, Serializer, Girlamatic, Webcomics Nation, and others. Manley is considered one of the "founding pioneers" of the webcomic movement for creating a then-revolutionary subscription model. Manley was well-regarded within the webcomic community. He had cultivated hundreds of relationships within webcomic circles and successfully brought webcomic creators together following the dot-com bubble. Joe Louis Manley Jr. (born June 11, 1959) is an American former boxer who fought at light welterweight. Amateur career Manley qualified as a lightweight for the 1980 United States Olympic team, defeating Frankie Randall on his way to earning his berth. Manley did not compete, however, due to the U.S. boycott of the Moscow Olympics. Manley was also the 1981 United States Amateur champion at lightweight. Professional career Manley became a professional boxer in 1981. He lost to future champion Gene Hatcher in 1983 but defeated another future champion, Freddie Pendleton, in 1985. He qualified for his title shot by winning a decision over Howard Davis Jr. in February 1986. She is mostly known for playing Margot Frank in the award-winning TV miniseries '' Anne Frank: The Whole Story''. Life and career Jessica is the daughter of Andrew Manley, a stage director. Gordon Valentine Manley, FRGS (3 January 1902 – 29 January 1980) was a British climatologist who has been described as "probably the best known, most prolific and most expert on the climate of Britain of his generation". He assembled the Central England temperature (CET) series of monthly mean temperatures stretching back to 1659, which is the longest standardised instrumental record available for anywhere in the world. It provides a benchmark for proxy records of climatic change for the period covered, and is a notable example of scientific scholarship and perseverance (it took over thirty years to complete). Ger Manley (born 13 January 1968) is an Irish former hurler and Gaelic footballer. At club level he played with Inniscarra, Midleton and Muskerry and was also a member of the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career Manley first played Gaelic football and hurling with the Inniscarra club. He won a Mid Cork JAFC title with the club in 1989, while he also lined out with the Muskerry divisional team as a dual player. Manley first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Cork minor team that won the 1985 All-Ireland MHC title. He progressed onto the under-21 team and was at centre-forward on the team that beat Kilkenny in the 1988 All-Ireland under-21 final.
