Mammoth Spring
Mammoth Spring is a large, Spring (hydrology), first magnitude karst spring that arises in the Ozark Plateau within the state of Arkansas. It is the largest spring in Arkansas and the third-largest spring within the Ozark Plateau region behind Big Spring (Missouri), Big Spring and Greer Spring (Missouri), Greer Spring. Mammoth Spring is the seventh-largest natural spring in the world. The spring's outlet pool is contained entirely within Mammoth Spring State Park. The park is located in the town of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Mammoth Spring, which lies in extreme north-central Arkansas. The outlet pool is adjacent to U.S. Route 63 in Arkansas, US Highway 63, only 500 ft. south of the Missouri border, and it can be readily seen from the highway. List Of Arkansas State Parks
There are 52 state parks in the U.S. state of Arkansas, as of 2019. ''Note: this list of all 52 parks is the default reference for current individual Arkansas state parks.'' The state parks division of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism is the governing body and operator of all parks, although jurisdiction is shared with other state agencies in a few cases. The first Arkansas state park, Petit Jean State Park, opened in 1923 following an unsuccessful attempt by a lumber company to donate the Seven Hollows and canyon areas to the federal government as a National Park.
