Malmö Municipality
Malmö Municipality ( sv, Malmö kommun), or City of Malmö (''Malmö stad''), is a Swedish municipality in Skåne County, the southernmost of the counties of Sweden (and conterminous with the historical province (''landskap'') of Scania). When the first Swedish local government acts were implemented in 1863, the Old City of Malmö was made one of the country's 88 city municipalities and the first city council was elected. The municipal territory has been augmented through mergers in 1911, 1915, 1931, 1935, 1952, 1967 and finally in 1971. In 1971, the city was also converted into a municipality of unitary type, like all others in Sweden. Malmö Municipality, however, styles itself ''Malmö stad'' (City of Malmö) in all cases when it is legally possible. This is a decision taken by the municipal assembly. Municipalities Of Sweden
The municipalities of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges kommuner) are its lower-level local government entities. There are 290 municipalities which are responsible for a large proportion of local services, including schools, emergency services and physical planning. A municipal council is the legislative body of a municipality or local government area. Depending on the location and classification of the municipality it may be known as a city council, town council, town board, community council, rural council, village council, or board of aldermen. ''Sydsvenska Dagbladet Snällposten'', generally known simply as ''Sydsvenskan'' (, ''The South Swedish''), is a daily newspaper published in Scania in Sweden. History and profile ''Sydsvenskan'' was founded in 1870. In 1871 the paper merged with ''Snällposten'' which was started in 1848. Tygelsjö
Tygelsjö is a locality situated in Malmö Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 3,455 inhabitants in 2018. It's a suburb to Malmö and lies west of the E22/ E6 highway. There are bus routes to Malmö and Vellinge. Etymology The oldest mention of Tygelsjö in the form ''Tyelsse'' comes from 1393. Oxie
Oxie () is a locality and was a city district ( sv, stadsdel) in the south-east of Malmö Municipality, Sweden. On 1 July 2013, the city district was merged with Fosie, forming Söder. In 2012, Oxie had a population of 12,453 of the municipality's 307,758. The area was 2,306 hectares. Notable buildings include the medieval Oxie church (''Oxie kyrka'') and the water tower. From the railway station commuter trains proceed to Malmö and Ystad. It is dominated by residential areas of single-family detached home and semi-detached houses. Burlöv Municipality
Burlöv Municipality (; ''Burlövs kommun'') is a municipality in Skåne County in South Sweden in southern Sweden, just north of Malmö. Its seat is located in Arlöv, a community which for geographical and statistical purposes is seen as a part of Malmö (''Malmö tätort''). The municipality is one of only a few in Sweden, and the only one in Scania, which still contains only the original municipal entity created from the old parish in 1863 (cf history of municipalities in Sweden) and has not been amalgamated. It is the second smallest municipality by area in the whole country (after Sundbyberg Municipality). Arlöv
Arlöv () is the seat of Burlöv Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden. It is statistically not defined as a locality of its own, but forms part of the contiguous city of Malmö, 5 km northeast of downtown Malmö. Out of Malmö's 344,000 inhabitants, 11,000 live in Arlöv. However, in the 1950s, a public vote took place, deciding once and for all that Burlöv Municipality would never be a part of Malmö.
