MLB The Show
''MLB: The Show'' is a Major League Baseball video game series created and produced by San Diego Studio, a development team that is part of PlayStation Studios. The series has received critical and commercial acclaim, and since 2014 has been the sole MLB baseball simulation video game on the market. The series debuted in 2006 with ''MLB 06: The Show'' for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, following the 989 Sports Major League Baseball series, MLB series from 989 Studios, 989 Sports. There has been a new release in the series every year since 2006. The series was released on PlayStation 2 from 2006's ''MLB 06: The Show'' through 2011's ''MLB 11: The Show'' and was available on the PlayStation 3 from ''MLB 07: The Show'' through ''MLB The Show 16''. San Diego Studio
San Diego Studio is an American video game developer based in Sorrento Valley, San Diego. A first-party studio for Sony Interactive Entertainment, it is responsible for '' MLB: The Show'' games. The studio also developed the '' NBA'' series, ''The Mark of Kri'', '' Pain'', '' High Velocity Bowling'', and '' Sports Champions''. History San Diego Studio was founded through a merger of Red Zone Interactive and 989 Sports. Red Zone Interactive, a San Diego-based development studio, was founded in December 1997 by former employees of Sony Interactive Studios America (SISA), the sole in-house studio of the Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) between 1995 and 1998. Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. MLB is composed of 30 total teams, divided equally between the National League (NL) and the American League (AL), with 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada. The ''MLB (Year#)'' series, is a series of Major League Baseball video games by Sony Computer Entertainment published under their 989 Sports label.
