R29 (South Africa)
The R29 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects Johannesburg with Leandra and Kinross via Germiston, Boksburg, Benoni and Springs. For much of its route it is named Main Reef Road. The R29 used to end near the Golela border post, however the section from Evander to Ermelo is now part of the N17 (prior to construction of the N17 extension from Leandra to Evander, the N17 followed the alignment of R29 from Leandra; however, the extension of the N17 highway has resulted in the old section of the road being given to R29) and the section from Ermelo to the Golela border post just after Pongola is now part of the N2. From Springs to the R580 junction north of Evander, the R29 is parallel to the N17 Highway. The M38 is a short metropolitan route in Johannesburg, South Africa. The entire route is in the Johannesburg South area, connecting Southgate with Tulisa Park via Ridgeway. It is parallel to the Johannesburg Southern Bypass ( N12 Highway) for its entire route. There is also a short route in the eastern part of Midrand that is designated as the M38. Route The M38 begins at a junction with the R553 Road in the Eikenhof suburb of Johannesburg South. It begins by going north-east as Main Road to meet the M68 Road in the Southgate suburb, bypassing the Southgate Shopping Centre. It passes under the N12 Highway ( Johannesburg Southern Bypass) and meets the southern terminus of the M5 Road (Nasrec Road) before turning eastwards to pass under the M1 Highway.
