Micheál De Búrc
Michael Burke ( or ; – 6 July 1881) was an Irish poet. Biography Born sometime about 1800 in the townland of Bresk, parish of Kiltullagh, four miles east of Athenry town, Burke was educated at the nearby Dominican College at Esker. In time he became schoolmaster at Esker National School, hence his nickname,''The Schoolmaster of Esker''. Writing in 2018, Martyn said of him: Many details of his early life remain unknown. The only man of the name documented in the 1821 census is thirty-two year old Michael Burke, his twenty-six year old wife, Mary, and their two year old daughter, Mary; but Michael is listed as a "Farmer & Labourer" (Mary a "Flax spinner") and resided at "Careenlea, Kiltullagh". Therefore, identifying him with Micheál de Búrc is problematic. Known as a good scholar who spoke, read and wrote in Latin, Greek, Irish and English, Burke emigrated to the United States sometime after 1839. Micheal O'Siadhail
Micheal O'Siadhail ( ; born 12 January 1947) is an Irish poet. He studied at Trinity College, Dublin (TCD) and the University of Oslo. He has been a lecturer at TCD, a professor at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, and has been a full-time writer since 1987. He has received several awards, including the Irish American Culture Institute Prize for Poetry in 1982, the Marten Toonder Prize for Literature in 1998, and the Eric Hoffer Book Award in 2020. Early life Micheal O'Siadhail was born into a middle-class family in Dublin. His father, a chartered accountant, was from County Monaghan, and his mother was from Dublin, with roots in County Tipperary. At age twelve, O'Siadhail attended the Jesuit boarding school Clongowes Wood College, an experience he later described in his poetry. Micheal David Larsen (November 9, 1981 – October 16, 2010), better known by his stage name Eyedea, was an American rapper. He was a battle rap, freestyle battle champion and songwriter from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Micheal Haley (born March 30, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He played for the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League (NHL). Hayley's playing style is often described as an enforcer and infamously in a February 11, 2011, Islanders–Penguins game Haley received 39 penalty minutes. Michéal Ó HUiginn
Michéal Ó hUiginn (born 1942) was the Mayor of Galway on three separate occasions: from 1972–1973, 1979–1980, and 1995–1996. Ó hUiginn's family were based on Father Griffin Road, on the west bank of the River Corrib, Corrib. He was the eldest of five children and graduated from Galway University with a B.Comm. in 1963. The following year his father died and Ó hUiginn took over the family building business. At the same time, he was co-opted to serve on the city council to fill the vacancy left by his father's death. Aged twenty-two, he was its then youngest member. He was a member of the Fianna Fáil party. The 2010 Kallang slashings refer to a series of four robberies committed by a group of four Malaysians from Sarawak, Malaysia in the night of 29 May 2010 and the early hours of the morning of 30 May 2010 (some of the culprits were not involved in the subsequent four robberies), mostly around Kallang Area, Singapore. In the robberies, there were a total of four victims – the first three victims were seriously injured and hospitalised while a fourth victim was killed. Three of the perpetrators were charged with murder and the final culprit remained on the run for seven years before being arrested and charged with murder. Eventually, two were convicted of murder - with one eventually hanging, hanged in 2019 and the other life imprisonment, jailed for life and caning in Singapore, caned - while the other two were dealt with lengthy jail terms and caning for multiple charges of armed robbery with hurt.
