Music, formerly known as Walkman, is an Audio player (software), audio player software for Android (operating system), Android. Developed by Sony Corporation (and previously by Sony Mobile), it is the default music player on Xperia devices and comes preloaded on them. A similar Walkman app continues to exist on Walkman digital audio players, including those that run on Android. The Sony Xperia 1 II is an Android smartphone manufactured by Sony Mobile. Part of Sony's Xperia series, the phone was announced along with the mid-range Xperia 10 II on February 24, 2020. Key upgrades over its predecessor, the Xperia 1, include support for 5G connectivity and Qi wireless charging, and a triple-lens camera which incorporates ZEISS-branded lenses with T✻ (T-Star) anti-reflective coating as well as technology brought over from Sony's Alpha camera lineup. DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) is a sound quality improvement technology for lossy compressed music files developed by Sony. Variants DSEE Introduced in 2006, DSEE is included in Sony's digital Walkman products and freeware SonicStage CP (version 4.2 or higher), x-app, and Music Center for PC. In operation, it analyzes irreversibly compressed music files such as MP3, ATRAC3, Advanced Audio Coding, AAC, and Windows Media Audio, WMA, and performs predictive calculations to compensate for high-frequency sounds lost due to compression, thereby improving sound quality. If the playing music on a Walkman has a high sound quality (bit rate), or if the sound quality is too low, the system determines that it cannot be enhanced and DSEE is temporarily disabled to save battery. Material Design (codename Quantum Paper) is a design language developed by Google in 2014. Expanding on the "cards" UI that debuted in Google Now, Material Design uses more grid-based layouts, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth effects such as lighting and shadows.
