MumboJumbo, LLC was an independent developer of games for personal computers, game consoles and mobile devices. MumboJumbo Mobile, LLC publishes entertainment software for Android and iOS devices. History The company was founded in January 2001 by Mark Dochtermann and Ron Dimant after leaving Ritual Entertainment. In 2003 it became one of the first independent developers to popularize casual games by partnering with portal sites to make games available for download directly to Windows and Mac computers. MumboJumbo was previously a United Developers Company that acquired other development companies including Zono, Ritual Entertainment, and Hot Lava Studios. On January 24, 2007, MumboJumbo announced their acquisition of Ritual Entertainment, a popular developer of first person shooter titles such as ''SiN'' and '' Star Trek: Elite Force II''. ''Luxor'' is a game and series of Tile-matching video game, tile-matching action puzzle video games, developed and published by MumboJumbo, with the initial release in 2005. The first sequel to this game was ''Luxor: Amun Rising'', which was released in 2005 followed by ''Luxor 2'', which was released in 2006 and included new gameplay, levels and bonuses. After that came ''Luxor 3'', which featured seven gameplay modes and improved graphics. Other titles include ''Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife'', ''Luxor 5th Passage'' and ''Luxor Evolved''. Gameplay ''Luxor''s gameplay is similar to ''Puzz Loop'' and ''Zuma (video game), Zuma''. The user eliminates colored magical spheres by causing three or more spheres of the same color to collide. Luxor 5th Passage
''Luxor 5th Passage'', known as ''Luxor 5'', is the sequel to ''Luxor'', '' Luxor 2'', ''Luxor 3'', and '' Luxor: Quest for the Afterlife''. It was developed by Absolutist and published by MumboJumbo in the 5th anniversary of the creation of ''Luxor'', the first installment in the series. Gameplay Adventure In this mode, players create matches of three or more spheres. Every third match in a row grants a powerup that the players can catch and activate it. A number of matches is needed to finish the level. The color are red, green, yellow, blue, purple, white and black, and these colors are the same as for ''Luxor''. The level 14-6 is added, because it breaks the record at 84 levels, which adds 14 bonus levels, with the 85% of the completion of every stage, and it will upgrade into Double Shooter along with Pharaoh's Daggers. Luxor Evolved
''Luxor Evolved'' is a tile-matching video game originally released in 2012 by MumboJumbo. ''Luxor Evolved'' is a complete visual and gameplay refresh of the ''Luxor'' series, taking the previous titles' staple Ancient Egypt thematics and combining them with a retro video game aesthetic. The design philosophy is similar to that of the '' Pac-Man Championship Edition'' series, modifying the traditional match-three mechanics with an enhanced focus on both high-speed gameplay and arcade-style look and feel. Made for and first released on PC, it was quickly ported to iOS in an attempt to gain mobile marketshare. The game was later released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2024. Luxor 3
''Luxor 3'' is an action-puzzle computer game released by MumboJumbo and a sequel to ''Luxor'' and '' Luxor 2''. As with the other ''Luxor'' games, it maintains an Egyptian theme and revolves around Egyptian deities involving a main gameplay goal of removing spheres in various lines of spheres on a set track by exploding groups of three or more spheres. Gameplay The game remains similar to that in previous editions of ''Luxor'': the main objective is to remove spheres of many different colors (ranging from four to nine different colors) from a track of spheres before they enter the pyramid at the end of a track. ''Luxor 2'' is an action-oriented casual puzzle game developed by MumboJumbo. First released in 2006, it is the sequel to the original ''Luxor'', which was released in 2005. A shadow is a dark area on a surface where light from a light source is blocked by an object. In contrast, shade occupies the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross-section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or a reverse projection of the object blocking the light. In each wonder, there are 5 to 7 sub-levels of runes that players switch to form a row of 3 or more runes. There are two modes of play: Free Play and Quest Mode. ''Insaniquarium'' is a 2001 virtual pets simulator video game, developed by George Fan, Flying Bear Entertainment and published by PopCap Games and MumboJumbo. Before PopCap Games's involvement, the game was a web-based Java (programming language), Java game released in 2001. The game was made downloadable by PopCap Games in 2004 and was ported to mobile devices in 2006 and 2008 by Glu Mobile and Astraware respectively. ''Insaniquarium'' has the player maintain a tank full of fish while protecting it from alien attacks.
