''Movimento'' (English: "Movement") is the sixth studio album by Portuguese group Madredeus. It was released on 9 April 2001 by EMI-Valentim de Carvalho. Recording ''Movimento'' was recorded in January and February 2000 at the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, Netherlands. The mixing was done at the Êxito Estúdio in Lisbon, Portugal, in April 2000. Wisseloord Studios
The Wisseloord Studio is a recording studio in Hilversum, Netherlands. It was officially opened on 19 January 1978 by Prince Claus. The studios were founded by electronics company Philips, to enable their PolyGram artists to record in a professional environment. Initially there were three studios, nowadays there are five. In the early days the studios were mainly used by Dutch artists. Later, international musicians such as Elton John, Scorpions, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, The Police, Tina Turner, Electric Light Orchestra, and U2 have used the facilities. A major refit of the studios began in 2010. As part of this, major components have been updated including the inclusion of new mixing consoles from Automated Processes, Inc. (Vision) and Avid (Euphonix System5). The studios also include a PMC active monitoring system. The studio reopened on 25 March 2012. Madredeus Albums
Madredeus () are a Portuguese musical ensemble formed in 1985, in Lisbon. Their music combines traditional Portuguese music, fado and folk music. Madredeus are one of the most successful music groups from Portugal, having sold over 3 million albums worldwide. History 1985–1993: Formation and first lineup Madredeus' first lineup consisted of Pedro Ayres Magalhães ( classical guitar), Rodrigo Leão (keyboard synthesizer), Francisco Ribeiro (cello), Gabriel Gomes ( accordion) and Teresa Salgueiro (vocals). Magalhães and Leão formed the band in 1985, Ribeiro and Gomes joined in 1986. In search of a female singer, they found Teresa Salgueiro in one of Lisbon's night clubs. Teresa agreed to join and, in 1987, Madredeus recorded their first album, '' Os dias da MadreDeus''. The first album was recorded in their rehearsal space, a converted abbey in Lisbon. The Associação Fonográfica Portuguesa (AFP; English: ''Portuguese Phonographic Association'') is the recording industry association of the major labels in Portugal. Created in 1989, it succeeded GPPFV (Portuguese group of producers of Phonograms and videograms) and UNEVA (Union of audio and video editors). The AFP is the Portuguese group of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
