Move Radio
Move Radio is a brand of adult contemporary radio stations heard across Canada. The network was launched on December 27, 2020, by Bell Media. The launch of the network involved a re-branding of eleven radio stations across Canada, five in Ontario, four in British Columbia, one in Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick. The network currently broadcasts on four stations nationwide. The launch of this network also involved the flipping of CJMG-FM's contemporary hit radio, Top 40/CHR format to adult contemporary, AC, as well as the contemporary hit radio, CHR format of CIBX-FM to hot AC. All stations adopted the slogan ''Today's Best Variety'', which is similar to other stations that use AC and hot AC formats, and have since then dropped their former brandings, including two stations with the "EZ Rock" brand. CHUM-FM (104.5 FM) is a Canadian radio station in Toronto, Ontario. Owned by Bell Media, the station airs a hot adult contemporary format. CHUM-FM's studios are located at 250 Richmond Street West in the Entertainment District, while its transmitter is located atop the CN Tower. The station is simulcast on Shaw Direct channel 872, and on Bell Satellite TV channel 990. CHUM-FM is consistently one of Toronto's most popular stations according to Numeris' radio ratings. CKPT-FM (99.7 FM broadcasting, FM, "Pete 99.7") is a radio station in Peterborough, Ontario. Owned by Durham Radio, it broadcasts an adult contemporary format. Its studios and offices are located on George Street North in Peterborough, while its transmitter is located on Greencrest Drive. Voice-tracking, also called cyber jocking and referred to sometimes colloquially as a robojock, is a technique employed by some radio stations in radio broadcasting to produce the illusion of a live disc jockey or announcer sitting in the radio studios of the station when one is not actually present. It is one of the notable effects of radio homogenization. Background Voice-tracking refers to the process of a disc jockey prerecording their on-air "patter". It is then combined with songs, commercials, and other elements in order to produce a product sounding like a live air shift. Voice-tracking has become common on many music radio stations, particularly during evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday time periods.
