Mount Laojun (Henan)
Mount Laojun (also called Jingshi Mountain 景室山) is a mountain in Henan Province, China. Along with the Jiguan Cave, the mountain forms part of a tourist scenic area that is rated as AAAAA, the highest category in the tourist rating system. Historically, the mountain was a retreat for Laozi, the founder of Taoism. Jiguan Cave is located at Luoyang city in Henan province, China. This cave is on the medium of Jiguan mountain, a branch of Funiu mountain, at an altitude of 1201 meters. AAAAA Tourist Attractions Of China
AAAAA (5A) is awarded to the most important and best-maintained tourist attractions in the People's Republic of China, given the highest level in the rating categories used by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. As of 2020, there are 279 tourist attractions listed as 5A. History The origins of the rating system for tourist attractions are based on criteria first set out in 1999 by the China National Tourism Administration (predecessor to the current Ministry of Culture and Tourism) and revised in 2004. The criteria include quality and management factors like ease of transportation links, site safety, cleanliness, etc., and also takes into account the uniqueness and recognition of the sightseeing offers. Laozi (), also known by numerous other names, was a semilegendary ancient Chinese Taoist philosopher. Laozi ( zh, ) is a Chinese honorific, generally translated as "the Old Master".
