Mount Iō (Akan)
also Mount Iwo is a volcano in the Akan Volcanic Complex of Hokkaidō, Japan. It sits within the borders of the town of Teshikaga, Hokkaidō, Teshikaga. The mountain was once mined for sulphur, hence its name. To the Ainu people, Ainu the mountain was known as Atosanupuri (''naked mountain''). The mountain is quite bare. Despite its bareness and being a rather low mountain at it hosts alpine plant life. It hosts colonies of Siberian Dwarf Pine, Rhododendron diversipilosum, and other members of Ericaceae. Mount Kabuto
{{nihongo, Mount Kabuto, 甲山, Kabuto-yama is a mountain in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture, Hyōgo, Japan. It is located in the east end of the Mount Rokko, Rokko Mountains, and the height is 309.2m. Outline Mount Kabuto is a famous picnic spot in the Kansai metropolitan area. It is a monadnock of an extinct volcano that was estimated to have last erupted about 12,000,000 years ago. The mountain is in Kabutoyama Forest Park. History The mountain is shaped like a helmet, 'kabuto' in Japanese. It has a long history as an object of worship by people around the mountain. Kanno-ji in the middle of the mountain is the place of worship of the mountain. According to Japanese myth, it is understood that because Empress Jingū buried her helmet when she went to subjugate Silla, a dynasty in the Korean Peninsula, this mountain was named 'Kabutoyama', literally "helmet mountain." Rhododendron Diversipilosum
''Rhododendron'' (; : ''rhododendra'') is a very large genus of about 1,024 species of woody plants in the heath family (Ericaceae). They can be either evergreen or deciduous. Most species are native to eastern Asia and the Himalayan region, but smaller numbers occur elsewhere in Asia, and in North America, Europe and Australia. It is the national flower of Nepal, the state flower of Washington and West Virginia in the United States, the state flower of Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh in India, the provincial flower of Jeju Province in South Korea, the provincial flower of Jiangxi in China and the state tree of Sikkim and Uttarakhand in India.
