Moshe Sidi
Moshe Sidi (; born 1953) is a professor emeritus in the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Sidi served as the Senior Executive Vice President and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs of the Technion, and as Executive Director of the Neaman Institute for National Policy Research. Early life and education Moshe Sidi was born in Ramla, Israel. He graduated from the Ramla-Lod high school. He began his academic studies in Electrical Engineering at the Technion, and received his B.Sc. in 1975, and M.Sc. in 1979. He continued his Ph.D. studies at the Technion until 1982. His thesis on ''Interfering Queues in Packet Radio Networks'' was supervised by Prof. Adrian Segall. In telecommunications engineering, and in particular teletraffic engineering, the quality of voice service is specified by two measures: the grade of service (GoS) and the quality of service (QoS). Grade of service is the probability of a call in a circuit ''group'' being blocked or delayed for more than a specified interval, expressed as a vulgar fraction or decimal fraction. Queueing theory is the mathematical study of waiting lines, or queues. A queueing model is constructed so that queue lengths and waiting time can be predicted. Queueing theory is generally considered a branch of operations research because the results are often used when making business decisions about the resources needed to provide a service. In telecommunications and computer networks, a channel access method or multiple access method allows more than two terminals connected to the same transmission medium to transmit over it and to share its capacity. Examples of shared physical media are wireless networks, bus networks, ring networks and point-to-point links operating in half-duplex mode.
