Moshe Jarden
Moshe Jarden () is an Israeli mathematician, specialist in field arithmetic. Biography Moshe Jarden was born in 1942 in Tel Aviv. His father, Dr. Dov Jarden (1911–1986), was a mathematician, writer and linguist, who transmitted him his love to mathematics. In 1970 he received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with Hillel Furstenberg as his thesis advisor. He accomplished his postdoctorate during 1971–1973 at the Institut of Mathematics, Heidelberg University, with Peter Roquette as his mentor, and habilitated there in 1972. During these years in Heidelberg, he initiated an intense and long-term cooperation with German mathematicians, especially with Peter Roquette, Wulf-Dieter Geyer, Gerhard Frey, and Juergen Ritter. His achievements in mathematics, as well as the foundation of this fruitful cooperation with German mathematicians, earned him the L. Moshe Feinstein (; Lithuanian pronunciation: ''Moishe Fainshtein''; ; March 3, 1895 – March 23, 1986) was a Russian-born American Orthodox Jewish rabbi, scholar, and ''posek'' (authority on ''halakha''—Jewish law). He has been called the most famous Orthodox Jewish legal authority of the twentieth century and his rulings are often referenced in contemporary rabbinic literature. Moshe Dayan
Moshe Dayan (; May 20, 1915 – October 16, 1981) was an Israeli military leader and politician. As commander of the Jerusalem front in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, Chief of General Staff (Israel), Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (1953–1958) during the 1956 Suez Crisis, Sinai War, and as Defense Minister during the Six-Day War in 1967, he became a worldwide fighting symbol of the new state of Israel. In the 1930s, Dayan joined the Haganah, the pre-state Jewish defense force of Mandatory Palestine. Moshe Katsav (; born Musa Qassab; 5 December 1945) is an Israeli former politician and was the president of Israel from 2000 to 2007. He was also a leading Likud member of the Israeli Knesset and a minister in its Cabinet of Israel, cabinet. He was the first Mizrahi Jew to be elected to the presidency, and second non-Ashkenazi president after Yitzhak Navon. He is also the only ex-Israeli president to have been convicted of a crime. Moshe Meiselman () is an American-born Orthodox rabbi and rosh yeshiva (dean) of Yeshiva Toras Moshe in Jerusalem, which he established in 1982. He also founded and served as principal of Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) from 1977 to 1982. He is a descendant of the Lithuanian Jewish Soloveitchik rabbinic dynasty. Moshe Bejski
Moshe Bejski (; 29 December 1921 – 6 March 2007) was a Polish-born Israeli Supreme Court Justice and President of Yad Vashem's Righteous Among the Nations Commission. After surviving the Holocaust with the help of Oskar Schindler, Bejski immigrated to Israel. In 1961, he testified about his experiences during the Holocaust during the trial of Adolf Eichmann. He served on the Tel Aviv-Yafo district court from 1968 to 1979 and was appointed to the Supreme Court of Israel, where he served from 1979 to 1991. As President of the Righteous Commission from 1975 to 1991, Bejski helped honor thousands of Holocaust rescuers. He also headed the Bejski Commission in the aftermath of the 1983 Israel bank stock crisis, which led to the nationalization of most of Israel's major banks. Moshe Menuhin (1893–1982) was an American Jewish writer and teacher of Hebrew. Biography Menuhin was born Moshe Mnuchin in Gomel to a distinguished, religious Lithuanian Jewish family. He was the great-great-grandson of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of Chabad Hassidism, as well as Rabbi Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev.
