Morsø Municipality
Morsø Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Nordjylland in northern Denmark. The municipality is located on the island of Morsø or Mors, an island in the Limfjord, the sound that separates the island of Vendsyssel-Thy from the rest of Jutland Peninsula. The municipality includes the smaller island of Agerø, and covers an area of 368 km2. It has a total population of 19,520 (2025). Its mayor is Egon Pleidrup Poulsen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Nykøbing Mors. Because Morsø municipality comprises the entirety of the island, all municipal neighbors are separated by a body of water. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). The Capital Region of Denmark, Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Region of Southern Denmark, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark Region, Central Denmark 19, Region Zealand, Zealand 17 and North Denmark Region, North Denmark 11. 2005 Danish Local Elections
Local elections were held in Denmark on 15 November 2005. 2522 municipal council members were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and 205 regional council members in the five regions. Most of these were newly formed municipalities, namely 66 municipalities, that would only begin working from Monday 1 January 2007, as would the newly formed regions, and one municipality, Ærø, which was also part of the reform, which was allowed by the government to commence work for the first time already Sunday 1 January 2006. Progress Party (Denmark)
The Progress Party (, FrP) is a right-wing populism, right-wing populist List of political parties in Denmark, political party in Denmark which was founded in 1972. The party's founder, the former lawyer Mogens Glistrup, gained widespread popularity as well as notoriety in the country after he appeared on Danish television, stating that he paid 0% in income tax. The party was placed on the Right-wing populism, right of the political spectrum as it believed in radical tax cuts (including removing the income tax altogether) and vowed to cut government spending. The Danish People's Party (DPP; , DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The party saw a period of significant growth after its founding and lent its support to the – Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. Salling
Salling is a peninsula located in the north-west of the larger Jutland peninsula in Denmark. The largest city in Salling is Skive, and smaller towns and villages includes Jebjerg, Roslev and Glyngøre. The Sallingsund Bridge connects the peninsula to the island of Mors, crossing the narrow strait of Sallingsund, part of the Limfjord. A train ferry is a ship (ferry) designed to carry Railroad car, railway vehicles, as well as their cargoes and passengers. Sallingsund Bridge
Sallingsund Bridge (Sallingsundbroen) is a bridge that crosses Salling Sund between the island of Mors and the Salling peninsula on the mainland (Jylland (Jutland)) in Denmark. The bridge is 1717 metres long, the longest span is 93 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 26 metres. The building of Sallingsund Bridge started in 1973, and it was opened by Queen Margrethe II on 30 May 1978. Before the bridge was built, people and cars were taken across the sound by the ferries ''Pinen'' ("Pain") and ''Plagen'' ("Bother"). In 1976, a million passengers and a half million cars were ferried across the sound. The bridge is pictured on the Danish 50-krone banknote since 2009.
